David has lived and been around boats all his life. From a young age of just 4 weeks old he went on a sailing trip with his parents, on their small yacht. From then on David’s life has revolved around boats and the marine world. His father taught him how to row a dinghy at an extraordinary young age, as well as dinghy sailing and racing from the age of 5.
Over the years David has raced various dinghies and keel boats. He has raced
on many larger yachts as bowman or trimmer in various regattas and races, in the
British Isles, France and Med. From racing optimists to racing in the Prada Americas
Cup Challenge for Classic Yachts. David has extensive valuable racing experience to
bring to the Mini class racing events.
During the past couple of years David has been a professional delivery skipper with PYD (Professional Yacht Deliveries) experiencing the oceans and long distance sailing. Before then he was a delivery first mate, as well as professional yacht racing crew. One of those delivery trips was a 67 foot racing yacht "Spirit of Hong Kong" from England to Hong Kong. Currently David has sailed over 120,000 miles the worlds Oceans and many different seas.
David is a Commercially Endorsed Ocean Yachtmaster as well as a skilled boat builder in wood and FRP, an
excellent combination for a single-handed sailor.
